Another one of the same high quality is the Olson All-Pro. Can usually be found a few dollars cheaper. Make sure it's the All-Pro though. I think Little Shavers stocks them. I know he did.

I like the Timber Wolf blades myself. Both are available at Woodcraft if there is one close to you. Bob |

Hi Susie, check to see if they have a silicon blade, I bought one for my saw, and just can't believe the difference, quieter, and just slides around corners. There more expensive, but well worth the extra.

Here's the site for the Timberwolf blades: Suffolk Machinery Corp. I just got a 3/16 and a 1/4 inch blade for my old 9" Craftsman. They make the blade to fit; mine was 59.25 inches, and I think they delivered in around 5 days. I haven't put the 1/4 inch blade on yet - the 3/16 is doing everything I need: cuts around corners like a dream, tracks straight(!!), etc. Comes with detailed instructions for tensioning the blade. I'll buy another from them when I need to again... Claude |

Hi Guys, Thanks for all of the replies.... I have been carving ALL DAY (ain't life grand!) and just now got on here to check the thread...... Hugh, that silicon blade sounds real interesting. How long have you had it? I just wondered about how well they wear. (my current blade came on the machine when we bought the bandsaw used.....5 years ago) How much more are they than say, a Timber Wolf? Where did you buy yours? Ed, you like All-Pro? Guess I will have to look into all of these blades. I don't change my blade for different jobs so what ever I buy will be mainly for cutting out carving blanks but also other, minor jobs....resawing or other heavy duty stuff, we do on my husbands big Jet 20" bandsaw. Hubby is needing new blades too, which is what brought this whole thing on. We thought we'd order from the same place. Looks like we have some research and talking to do first. Thanks everyone. |

Thanks, I have been looking on line since I read the first replies earlier. It looks like there is a Timber Wolf silicon....there is also a warning on one of the other forums that Timber Wolf blades need to be tensioned lower than other blades? I was checking out the Olsen blades on one site too. Didn't see the size I need.....but I have it narrowed down to a 3/16 blade, 4 tpi, skip.....just need to pick a brand and find the size I need in it. Thanks so much for all the help. |
