One thing I would add to this discussion. The 1/4 horse motors are a wound field. While they accelerate more slowly, they in turn decelerate more slowly. This produces a more stable spin ! The mag drive motors while they are more powerful respond very quickly. Kinda like comparing the acceleration of a Lincoln Continental to a Kawasaki KZ 1000. Quick response and torque aren't necessarily a good thing when you're just trying to shave off a smidge ! This really only pertains to when you are using pedals, but It has a way of catching you off guard, and the results are often Bad ! I have an SR, an H, and the TX. I use the H motor twice as often as the others, and I don't miss that power one bit ! ;^)
