Default My Dremel died

One day I was carving and the dremel sudenly stoped for a while, I tought it was hot and let it rest, it happened the next day and the third... it never started again. Surely I burn the motor, but will not have the money to repair it in at least a couple of weeks.

Now I'm unemployed, bored and without can carve... I'm going to throw myself from a bridge!

tarik,

it may just be a set of brushes you can pull these out and look at them.if not then you may have to have a funeral for it and get another. if it is the brushes they are not that much.

I would see if the brushes were worn first. If the brushes are, it will not even start to run.

Yep Dave, I find both of ours get hot pretty fast. Well, we did when we were carving. Ho-Hum!
best to you!

Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks!!!!!

It worked!!!!

Now I'm going to call my Dremel Jesus Christ... "and at the third day, it resurrected"

Always wondered what were those pieces at the side of the tool... What is the purpose of the brushes? besides scare me...

Someone showed me a naet trick with the brushes. Every so often spray a small shot of WD-40 on the brushes, place it on the newspaper and you can see the burnt carbon drip off the newspaper. WHEN DRY repeat WHEN DRY and when the dremel is COOL repeat put the brushes back in.

This is not a substitute for replacing brushes but it makes them run longer and keeps the dremel running cooler, as it does get hot.
