Default My Carving desk

Awhile back everyone was showing and telling aobut where they carve. I just got back a picture of where I carve mostly and it is posted in the carver galley under tools and my gallery. it is a rolltop desk that I got after my father died, it wasn's used for anything but to stack stuff on, so now I use it to carve on. I also carve sometimes in my recliner with a towel and a board in my lap. I also have a 20'x25' woodworking shop, that I will use if I need to. I also make furniture and boxes and whatever in my shop. This will be my retriement someday, cause I sure won't have any pention coming. Oh well!

The little bride would skin me alive if I used her rolltop for a carving desk. Been in her family for generations. Restored it for her but her father was a little upset about it. he said it took the value down. Maybe so but it looks 200% better than what it did and besides, He gave it away to his other daughter and we bought it from her.

Well It's like this Ken, using the rolltop keeps me form using our dining room talble and also the rolltop is not an antique and was not being used except to store junk, so now it is a useful peice of furniture. My wife is an understanding soul (thank god!), hehe. I have really enjoyed my time carving at the rolltop and I think my Dad would understand and approve.
