| | Re: More Power Sharpeners ??? I have the Burke.....I went for the small rv model....wouldn't advise it, get the larger model. Humm just looked at the pictures, I see they raised the mandrel on the smaller model...that would be ok, mine is way to low and is really not good. |

They all have different functions, the Burke on the far left is probably the most used. But the center one is a 3700 rpm floppy wheel, fantastic on v tools and gouges, its for buffing only. And the upright sharpener has a denny's sharpening jig that is great forholding tools at just the right angle. But if I could only pick 1 it would be the Burke system, hope this helps you out. |

I did not have this on my first list.
I was able to use a larger version of this sharpener that a knife maker I know has, and I like it. Makes a nice flat grind, but you do have to change the belts, which wasn't any trouble.
Not sure which one yet, but I am only buying one of these bad boys so I need to think, think and re-think my choices. Any info would be a great help.
Thanks Brian

I have one of those styles also, and if you add on the sharpening jig that denny's tools makes it is awsome, but for all around sharpening and buffing I still would go with the burke. |

| | Re: More Power Sharpeners ??? Mark thanks for your input.
I believe I have it down to the two, Burke and The Ultimate Sharpener. I thought that the Ultimate would put a flatter grind on the tool then a wheel which is a constant circumference.
Well, Monday I will go play with a burke then I will make my mind up.
I was able to try a Tormek which I also liked and a JoolTool which I did not.
I wish they were cheaper so I could get them all.
Brian
