Metric would make my job a lot easier!!! Each time there is a fraction in the magazine, I've got to manually stack it. It's just a few keystrokes, but that time adds up <GRIN>

I just wish we'd go to a single system. Don't care which one. The rest of the world is metric so we might as well be. It just disturbs me to no end to have to have two tool boxes full of tools just to accomplish anything. Then you go to work on your car and things really get confusing. Some of the bolts/nuts are metric and others are not? Al is correct, close isn't good enough, but thie difference is sometimes so slight you can't tell my eye.

mm or inches? not convenient at all! inches come in a tape measure but mm's come in a bag and they are not all the same size and besides, they melt in your hand, not in your mouth

dmr,

Try TheWoodcraftShop.com. This isn't the chain of Woodcraft stores, but a single store in Bettendorf Iowa. I was over there a month or so ago taking a class, and in looking around their store, saw a whole cabinet full of Henry Taylor gouges. Give them a call. They can probably order the ones you need if they don't have them. The store is owned and run by Carol and Larry Yudis, and they are good people and will help you out.

One thing you should be aware of though. I bought a Henry Taylor gouge from them a couple of years ago, and it didn't come pre-sharpened. The cutting edge was squared off and about 1/16" thick. This wasn't a problem for me since I have a good sharpening system. I'm sort of under the impression that HT gouges come that way. Anyway, ask them about that if you expect to get sharpened, ready-to-go gouges. Hope that helps!
