Hello Paul,
Another option for you is Two Cherries carving tools. Here is the link to the full carving tool catalogue: http://www.europeanhandtools.com/cat...ving_Tools.pdf
On page 5 of the pdf you will find the professional full size tools, item #3147 available in 1mm; alternatively on page 9 are the palm micro-tools #5711 in 0.5mm and 1.0mm or on page 10 are the straight handled micro-carvers #5311 in 0.5mm and 1.0mm. All have shafts as thin as the gouge itself.
