Default Making Carving tools

Several years ago, WCI ran an article on forging your own carving tools. I think it was in 2000-2003 period. Is there any way to get a copy of that article? Any help would be appreciated.

BobD,
Issue 18 - You had me talked into it and found it out of print, sold out, no more to be made ever!! Darn! It sounded like a good read too.

Not sure these are what I am thinking of. It involved using a single refractory brick, a propane torch and a spring swage made from a large nut & bolt and a length of 1/4" round steel rod. It showed you how to forge chisels and gouges and how to heat treat them. I am just sick that I lost my copy.

Bob,
All I can say is ...E-bay!

Actually, if there is a specific article you are interested in, contact our Customer Service department at 800-457-9112; they have a procedure for getting people copies of articles that are out of print.

WOO Hoo! Found it! I did not recognize the cover until you listed the numbers. It was in No. 18 and I still have it! Thanks for all the help.

I totally agree. Mike's a great guy. He wrote the article CB and I are talking about.
