Frank;
Since you are in Ontario, Canada you can get Denny knives from Jan Oegema in Bowmanville, not sure how far that is from you since I found 3 Cedar Valleys in Ontario on my maps.
Here's his web site;
http://members.rogers.com/jancarves/index.htm
You can get his phone number and e-mail from the web site, he does mail order , I have dealt with Jan for more than 10 years and now that I live over 400 km from him I still do all my purchases by mail, just tell him what you want, in this case Denny knife blades and he will ship it pronto if it's in stock.
You would be best to check out the Denny knife site first for model numbers etc.

something else you can do also is to use the warren blades and set them in with 2 ton epoxy i have made a couple like this also but i think i would much prefer the denny blades i think they may be a little better for what you want. no matter what blade you use i would highly recomend using 2 ton epoxy to glue them up with.

Default old hack saw blade

I've got 2 I'm working on. One I bought a blade and am making a grip out of antique walnut. The other is an old carbon steel buthcher kiive that was sharpened 'til it's about the size of flay knife. I'm sharpening the top & rounding the bottom.
For the old hack saw blade I assume it would be one of the blue one's. I haven't seen them for a while only the painted ones made in China or some such place

Some jigsaw blades work well for making knives, just make sure it is a good quality, not a cheapo.

Default HackSaw blades

What is a good brand? I have some Buck Bros, proudly made in the USA. Some Danish made Viking brand, but I believe they are Bi-metal. I know a blacksmith who makes hunting knives out of spring steel. He anneals and re-tempers it. That a little above my skill level!
