Several years ago I attended one of Harold Enlow's workshops and he carries a recycled dremel shoe polisher as a power strop..this idea re-ocurred to me..last sunday when i saw a similiar shoe polisher that I picked up for a whistle at a local flea market..it came with two colored cone-pasties, I removed them ..and low and behold was two badmitten birdie shaped cones that I want to adapt for the curvature of my tools...I want to apply some pigskin to the cones to make my power strop..should work with some of my favorite stropping compound. the polisher may be alittle fast but I have a router speed control I can slow it down if I need..
Bill
Bill, if that's a brushless, induction type motor, the router speed control won't work, and if you leave it on too long will burn out the speed control.
