Default Looking for a double edge hook knife

I have a warren knife blade like this and I also have one like this . I would like to have a single blade that has both a convex and concave edge to it. Does someone make such a knife?

Thanks
Chris

Chris, I think the only double sided knife I've seen was one of those Swedish laminated knives. Most people have a tendency to put a finger on the back of the knife to help push/guide the blade and a double blade could be dangerous. I was wondering if you couldn't take the blade with the inside radius and just sharpen the outside edge to suit your purposes? Seems like there is enough metal if you are careful and when using it don't do any deep twisting on the blade to prevent breakage?

Helvie makes one and I have another one from a German mfg. called Mascot, but that may have been a vendor name. It came in a four piece chip and relief carving set.

I searched the Helvie sites and I don't see this blade any more. However, as a matter of safety, I ground down the back of one side on each of these knives so only the convex on one is sharp and the concave on the other.

Here's another one available from Woodcraft as a single knife.

I also have a set of Whittlin' Jacks that has one of these and I painted the handle RED so when I pick it up I know it's sharp on both edges.

Al

Check out the catalogue at www.leevalley.com, they have a Beebe brand knife that may be like the one you're after. It has a slight hook to it and is sharp on both sides. I have a few of the Beebe knives including the one mentioned above. They are fairly expensive but good quality, in MHO.
