Clifford, we are all entitled to our own opinion. It would be fruitless for us to argue or even debate the issue. Enjoy your cheap tools.

I did not not post this to start a debate,I was just asking those that had them or used them what they thought of them.I know that they are $ but I have been in the wood working thing for more years than I care to remember and have found that saw blades, router bits and so on all preform but that by getting the more $ ones that they will last a lot longer and stay sharper longer so I tend to spend a little more for less change over. It`s all opinions and everyone has the right to buy what they choose.thanks for all the replies.I guess the best thing to do is to try a few and judge for myself.

Hello,

I suspect that the Lamp brand tools are in fact made by the same company that makes Two Cherries tools.

My only gripe with Ramelson is that they are all hand or palm tools...They don't make mallet tools, which is what I use for 99% of the work I do...

If you're hand-held carving kind of carver, Ramelsons are great! But to do big stuff, you need to power of a mallet, and the Ramelsons are not designed for that.

I don't think it's a hobby snob kind of thing...if you need full size tools, you head for the manufactureres that make full size tools...Unfortunately, Ramelson doesn't.

If they did, I'd definately give them a shake!

Bob

Ive always been interested in Lamp tools but never got around to buying some. They are some appealing and attractive tools though! My all around favorite is the big Buck Bros tools, man they're nice. I agree with Buck Bros having some of the best steel around and and not too pricey but another great tool comp. is Frank Mittermeier tools i have a whole lot of both and are hands down my favorite so far..
