Hi Ho to clamp that diagional make clamping jig - a board with 2 raised sides spaced just wide enough to put the handle blank in and a bit shorter than the blank. When you clamp the ends the sides keep the diagional from sliding. You can use different width blanks by putting a filler strip in beside the blank to make a close fit. This also makes a great looking spoon blank. Don

the problem is the compound curves, the diagonal wanted to slide out before the glue could grab....like I said, not worth it...a square insert would look just as good.

Rick doesn't need the advertisement - especially on this board, but I must say that these knives are MUCH more handsome in-hand than they appear in the pictures. They are now mine Happy

As a note, I asked for them to be "identified" and have his initials professionally scribed on the handles.

For the jealous types - I have them very well protected, so don't get any wise ideas......

Can't really argue with you Jim.....beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I have not gotten the chance to do any steady carvin' yet, but what little I have been able to do, the knives work GREAT. I can't explain how well they actually fit my hand. The straight blade is a little longer than I normally use (on purpose), and I have to say that with the handle shape, I have been able to adjust quite easily. The blades are perfect.
