I've been telling Rick the same thing! Something BESIDES dna, as Dave suggests, would be nice! Just give us a little bitty mark of some sort!

| | Re: Knife Set Rick,
How about a metal stamp depicting a small Hobo so that you can make an impression on the handle? It doesn't need to be big nor deep--just something that anyone who knows their way around carving tools and seeing the Hobo would instantly say, "Ah--one of Rick's knives. Nice! Very Nice!" Talk about a Hobo being a great salesman! I'll make that guy work for his dinner yet!
On second thought, using a rubber stamp depicting a small Hobo might work well with permanent ink on the handle, too. Just a thought...don't want to mess in another man's business!

| | Re: Knife Set how about a stamp in the handle depicting a straight razor. Cape forge has a nice brass plug in their handles with initials. |

| | Re: Knife Set That's a good idea Dave! A straight razor would be much easier to draw and the end result would be easier to see.

| | Re: Knife Set Here is a picture of my latest razor knife, not quite finished, still too thick on the back edge, also, not sure I like the 3 in blade. I used the whole razor for this one, the first I made two knifes out of one razor, one regular and one detail, actually worked pretty good, but wanted to try this, will probably shorten to 2 or 2 1/2 inches before I am finished. |

| | Re: Knife Set HiHO that is a pretty looking knife, what is the wood?is it 2 diff.woods that you've joined together? you can make all your futur knives that way, with that style of wood handle and it will become your trademark.
if we don't watch out this may become a knife making board.(just finished my last knife for 2005)

| | Re: Knife Set The wood is cherry with a chunk of walnut diagonally, the end is a piece of plastic.....was going to use a piece of brass but didn't stop long enough to go to the hardware store LOL
I won't do another handle just like this, too much hassle with the diagonal, can't clamp it! might try some other designs.......next will have a brass end and probably a couple different colored insert woods.
