Default I just had to tell someone.

Well I've been saving my $$$ for a while and today I drove the 70 miles to the nearest Woodcraft store and came home with over $300 worth of Swiss Made tools.
I've been using a Flex Craft set for the past few months since I started carving and decided to get some tools that I could use a mallet with. When I got home I took a piece of Tupilo a friend gave me and started to work on a dragon. I used some of the new tools and they work great, but I still used the flex craft for some of the smaller work.

I guess one thing I learned was that I must be sharpening the tools right since the flex craft cut just as well as the new swiss made. I really do like the balance of the new tools.

Congratulations on the new tools! Tupilo may not be the best wood for using those tools however, it is more a wood for power carving. Basswood, Butternut, Walnut, Pine, Mahogany or a host of other woods you may find work better with the new tools. The Swiss made tools are my own personal favorites, they just have such a nice feel and cut so well. A real joy to use. Enjoy them in good health, they should last you forever.

Thanks Chucht, the name comes from my business, I'm a retired Arborist and spent a lot of time treating diseased trees. Sometime when your successful bringing a tree back to health it seems like a Wizard was at work.
