Default JoolTool Is it worth it?

I was at the Dayton carving show this weekend and saw a demonstration on a JoolTool sharpening system. Looked like it worked great and did not heat up the chisel which scares me away from Power sharpening systems. I was wondering if some of you have used this machine and is it worth the $280?

Rich,

I purchased one. When Annie was at the open house doing the demo, it was almost impossible to get close enough to see the work. Tom Mathais, went over a gave it a real beating to test it.

It works. Flexcut did just change their entire operation to using the jooltool. For a company to make that type change is saying a lot. I think Colin now has one as well.

As a hobby, it is hard to justify that kind of money. But for a time saver and the ability to hone an edge like it has , well I have spent more and gotten less.

Garry

Rich; I purched one and did not Pay $280.00 for it. You need extra Back plates for each Disk. If you don't you must remove the disk to install a different Grit, and that will cause them to loose their tackyness, then you need to buy more Disks. My Bill was a little over $ 400.00. Is it worth it? Myself I say YES, But that's relative to the amount of usage you need it for. So far I am very pleased and amazed at my Drills, Tool Bits, and Carving Tools.
