Just finished two more knives, my wife got one and don't think I got a picture of it, but here is the other...carves good, a little different but the difference is slight.

the wood is myrtle with a center of palo verde.

Well I found the other knife pic, might as well post it too...this is a basswood handle on a detail knife, a bit too light for me, my wife liked it so its hers now.

POE that's a nice knife too, do the shears you used require further heat treating? or were they hard throughout

They were old sheep shearing shears and hard as a rock and tough as nails. Was just carful not to overheat them. Started with 60 grit on the floor sander and worked my way to 120 then by hand to 150. Cleaned with acetone and blued with half a lemon followed the next day by a cleaning with soap and water then oiled down.

never heard that about a lemon? that should be a good strong roughout knife! Not sure what the poor sheep are gonna do now tho?
That handle looks just like the juniper I used on one of my knifes.....nice work! I keep working down in grit, until the final is 2000 grit and then to the hone..........as the ol' mountain man would say "it shines, it truly shines!" LOL
