Default Harbor Freight strikes again!

I needed a woodcarving bench for the camp... 'cause folks were getting tired of having to share the picnic table.
I couldn't bring my bench from home, but I have to have something to work on while we're in and out of there over the summer. Carving outdoors is one of my favorite forms of relaxation.

I needed a bench that was fairly small and fairly portable (yet hefty) and it needed to be cheap, since I only will get to use it a few weeks out of the year. Behold:

Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

I knew that I was taking a risk, with some stuff from HF being so cheap that it's unserviceable for it's designed task...but this was a pleasant suprise.

It's no Sjoberg, but it was only $129+$11.99 shipping!

It meets all my requirements, though I'm sure that I'll have to tweak a few things about it, but really it's pretty nice as is.

It only had I tiny bit of breakage (all the way from China, via California to NewYork) on one of the drawers slides that really is immaterial.

Quite a surprise really.

Good deal, every once in a while you find one of those HF gems. I got one of the ash tool chests for Christmas and the wife paid 49.99 for it and it houses my tools. It's a deal as well. Couldn't by the ash for that much. Congrats on the bench!

Saw that one myself,,,couldn't buy the wood,,nor the time to build it myself for less.If you consider the initial cost vs. long term costs you can't beat it. Good going buddy! Smart purchase!

Being a new carver I was looking for something to use for a bench and I found my old Black & Decker Workmate. It has all the holes drilled already for holddowns and it's just the right hight to sit down and carve. I'm glad I didn't get rid of it last time I cleaned the basement.

I have purchased the same unit about 2 years ago.. mine does not have the drawers but it's the same unit I got this one for 79.00 and I am moving into a new house where I can actually get to use it in a garage our current house has no garage and our escrow closes on the 25th so I will soon have a nice litle workshop to toy around in... cant wait.. btw this bench is very sturdy too..
