Has anyone tried the gouges from "Mountain Woodcarvers"? Do they hold their edge very well? Are they well made? The price seems good, but will they hold up? CARVE4LESS.COM Todd |

I have some of these and they are decent tools. Nothing fancy and worth what you pay for them. If you are a tool-nut then you might be underwhelmed by them as compared to the big name gouges on the market, fit, finish & steel. But they sharpen up fine and seem to hold an edge as well as their price would suggest. As all all around wood carving tool purchase, on a scale 1-10, I'd give them a 6. Russ |

Thank you Russ. That is the kind of information I was looking for. If anyone else has some hands on experience with these gouges, please chime in. Thanks, Todd |

Hi Todd, I don't use them, I like Denny's and Flexcut tools. They are good and sharp and at a good price. Bob

Thanks Bob. I have 2 Swiss Made gouges now and like them a lot. I am going to purchase a few more real soon. I am looking at full size gouges and was just checking some other brands. The Mountain Woodcarver gouges looked ok, and I might order one to see how it is. They are cheap and I know I will probably get what I pay for it, but it would help me round out some sizes quicker.
