Default Full spectrum lights

I don't know if this is the kind that people were talking about a while ago but I was looking for a desk lamp and saw that the Christmas Tree Shop had full spectrum desk lamps for $16 and floor models for $25. From what I'd heard in the past, they're usually a lot more than that. They also had spare bulbs for $6. They're listed as 6500K.

I wish I could say that I had a chance to try it out but my mother-in-law borrowed it to see if it would help her when she reads since she has poor eyesight. Maybe in the next couple of days I'll be able to say how it is for carving. I just set up a new desk and realized that I need more light there for carving.

These have a funky little flourscent type bulb that says it's 26W. I'm not sure how that equates to incadesent, but I think it would be the equivilant to over 100W.

Mikeg... Sounds like it. If it's a daylight lamp it will have a really super white glow where a fluorescent gives off a more yellowish hue. And I think that you're right about the wattage equalivance!
