Unhappy Foredom Speed Control not controlable

Hi, just wondering if anyone has run across this before. I have a Foredom Flex Shaft with Foot Control, Great tool for carving...well, in the past I was able to use the foot control for the speed, I could actually get to rotate quit slow, but now all of a sudden when I try to get the tool to go slow, it is super fast? I can barely touch the foot control and it is SUPER FAST. Any idea's?

thanks

David

David,
Have you contacted Foredom? If you can find the Company on a search, they will probably have a tech rep who can talk you through the problem or send a replacement.
Another thought, you might make sure something hasn't got stuck in it, like a wood shaving.
Good luck!
Wade

Sounds to me like it may be packed with dust. If blowing it out with an air compressor doesn't fix it take it to an electric shop.

Well, I blew out the foredom unit with my compressor, don't think it is an issue with the actual unit, I think it may be related to the foot control. I took the main screw out the foot control and it looks like there is a plastic pin that sticks up and when pressed it turns on the motor. The little plastic pin looks like the tip maybe chipped. Not sure if that would cause an issue. I did contact Foredom, but have not heard back from them yet..

thanks

David
