You mean like the ones for the worksharp 2000/3000? I have the worksharp 2000 and the hole is too small for a 1/2" arbor. I was thinking of getting foredom so I could vary the speed of the disc and reverse it to make sharpening knives easier. I saw a clamp for the foredom handpieces that allows you to use both hands.

Chris thanks for the reply. Could a guy chuck the disk in a lathe and bore out the hole to 1/2 in.??,what fordom machine are you refering to?
Thanks again for the help

The disc for the WS2000 is plastic so you could bore it out to 1/2 inch. I would also think there are smaller mandrels available or one could easily be made. I was thinking of using the handpiece holder for the foredom flex shaft hand pieces: http://www.blackstoneind.com/foundations/store/shopdetail.asp?product=HH%2D30&ncluster=0&ngroup=0 &name=HH%2D30%2C+Handpiece+Holder&desc=For+use+wit h+Handpiece+Nos%2E+30%2C+30H%2C+30SJ%2C+44%2C+44T+ and+44HT%2E+Allows+you+to+bring+the+work+piece+to+ the+tool+instead+of+the+other+way+around%2E+Comes+ with+handpiece+clamp%2C+rod%2C+and+BC%2D1+clamp%2E %0D%0Aℑ=HH30%5F200px%2Ejpg&weight=0&taxable=True&o versized=False&freight=0&fspecial=&tspecial=&start =1&category=

The Old Texas Woodcarvers Store carries a metal disc with slots cut into it that can be mounted on a drill press. It has adhesive backed abrasive discs that mount to the metal one. It works like the JewelTool but it is bigger and it does a great job. The whole package is under $100, not including the drill press. You can get a cheap Chinese Drill Press for less than $50 at Harbor Freight and it will work fine. I watched Dallas Deege sharpen my V-tool and two knives in about 3 minutes with it.

Thanks Chris, I got ahold of the rep. and the disk for the WS2000 has two working serfaces instead of one, I am gonna give it a try, sounds like a god idea to use the handpiece if you can hold it steady
