Thumbs up What I did this weekend

What little carving I've done lately I've done with my Kershaw Double Cross. The other day I pulled out my tackle box to carve and was reminded that most of them were getting dull to the point where stropping didn't do the trick.

So I watched Ev Ellenwoods DVD for the second time since I'd gotten it and pulled out some Millers Falls tools that I'd gotten off of Ebay and my diamond hones and gave it a try. These were pitifully dull and each had multiple bevels.

I got the small #9 nice and sharp and, after a couple of tries, the #3 fairly sharp. I also sharpened the skew chisel pretty well. The v-tool has still eluded me but I'll keep trying.

If anybody needs pointers on sharpening, I definitely recommend Ev's DVD.
