| | Denny Knives Hi all,
A common thread is what knives or tools are good so I thought I would enter an unsolicited opinion.
I have been working with a Denny knife for a few weeks now and really enjoy it. It seems to hold an edge very well and the handle is comfortable.
I plan to purchase the Denny Ortel V-gouge next. I hear good things about that tool as well. When I happen to get one I'll jot an opinion of that as well.

| | Re: Denny Knives I rotate through quite a few brands of knives and Denny Knives are always good. I like the 1.75" straight knife the best. Also the handles are very comfortable for being such a simple design. The V-Tools are great too. Lots of control on the shorter Ortel V-Tool. That's my two cents for what it's worth. |

| | Re: Denny Knives I have the 2 1/4 knife and a detail knife. Like them both. The Stetson version of the V gouge is one of my favorite Denny gouges. Good stuff.

| | Re: Denny Knives I am a tool collector and have many tools of many manufacurers from addis to pfiel. Can have my pick of any of them because I feel tools should be used, not stored. What is in my every day use kit is Denny, Stubai, Ramelson, Cape Forge, and homemade. Like the Millers Falls a lot too and sometimes replace a couple of the Stubai with them. The rest just kind of sit and get fondled on occassion and if I feel like treating them kindly will make a couple cuts just to make them feel good. |

| | Re: Denny Knives Hello,
I have two of Denny's chip carving knives, three of the straight blade, and a full set of his gouges and v-tools. All of Denny's tools are of the highest quality. The knives I use most ofen are:
1. Denny
2. Ron Wells
3. Helvie
4. Cape Forge
5. Mort Lake
I ordered a North Bay Forge knife last week, and can't wait to try it out. |

| | Re: Denny Knives I have the 1-1/2" Denny knife and I like it. My primary knives are a pair that Rick made for me, which are super sharp. I travel frequently and I picked up the Denny for carving in the hotel rooms. If it gets misplaced in checked luggage I won't cry and have to wait 3 months for a replacement. I do have the small Denny v-gouge that is a very good and sharp tool. I use it on most of my carvings.
