Default Delta 23-700 Wet Dry Sharpener

Anyone used or using this type of sharpener?? Looks like an interesting concept, just wondering if it works and if it is good.

Thanks
Gene

i have 2 wet dry slow rpm sharpeners, one delta 4" stone and a harbor freight 8" with 6" dry

I make a few razor knives and find the wet grinder, great for second sharpening after i have used the knife enough to have rounded the edge from honing too much.
occasionally you have to reshape the blade or flatten it back removing the double bevel in my thinking. as to the way i sharpen my knives,.
the wet grinder is perfect for this use.

although not a tool for constructing a knife out of a razor its just too much removal with a slow speed grinder..

one thing for cretin you wont overheat a blade with a wet grinder but at 650 rpm you will be there longer to obtain the results you desire..

keep them clean and remove the water after use,

mineral deposits cause some weird problems with the stones if you just leave the water to evaporate.. so keep it clean//

for a wet grinder, I use the Harbor Freight model...has a 3450 rpm wheel on one side, is speed reduced and an 8" wet wheel on the other reduced down to 180 rpm.....was a grand total of 58.00! Love it for making knives!
