Default Defries Gouges

Hey just wanted to ask if anyone has ever heard of the Defries line of carving chisels/gouges... I've come across a few of them recently and couldn't find anything about them online...then I saw something about them being Italian but don't know if this is legit.

Are they good tools? Anyone know how long they've been around?

Thanks to all...

Hey Thanks Dave!

I never heard of them either and was wondering if they're any good as I had the opportunity to buy some... now that I'm up to about 50 carving chisels I'm trying to be a bit more selective in what I buy...

I'm really looking for more sculptor's type chisels; larger ones at least 25mm and up...

Yes! Can you believe this storm? I'm getting a little anxious thinking about it but most of me will be surprised if it turns out to be as bad as some are saying...

JBergs: For large wood carving tools, take a look at the website for Magard Log Home Building Tools in Prince George, BC. Very well established, an astounding warehouse of stock to walk through and a good guy to deal with.

Never heard of them. as for the storm.......no one wants another New Orleans.
At least most people that can/could are leaving like they're being told to do.
