Craigslist strikes! 12" bandsaw!

My brother called me last night to alert me to a Craftsman 12" bandsaw that was a 2 hour drive from home that he saw on Craigslist.

It's an all-metal (except for a plastic knob or two) Craftsman 12", 1hp with 5" clearance, model No. 137 224320 of some years old but is an exceptionally good shape from the pictures.

Anyway, I talked to the guy on the phone and he seemed on the up-and-up so I agreed to pick it up with my son, who has the week off from school, tomorrow. The price: Only $100 !!

I just may end up canceling my back-orderd Craftsman 10" band saw that still isn't supposed to be available for delivery for another two weeks!

Man I tell ya! If you are patient and wait for the deals, Craigslist is the place for bargains. Seems bandsaws are the hot item lately, I just bought a 12" Jet last week off craigslist. The guy wanted more, but I played poker and he bluffed. I told him I was going ahead with the griz since he didnt want to sell for what I offered. 2 days later he called me back!

Works out? I guess so!
This saw would have been a great deal at three times the price!
Did I ever make out on this one!

Now I have to make room in the shop!
That's the tough part.
For now (and maybe until fall!) it can sit, and work, in the garage.
