Thomp, Yep, saw the ads on TV. There seems to be some tell-tale characteristics of a "machined" carving. I do not believe it can cut a square INSIDE corner. Besides, what REAL carver is going to buy a machine to do what we all love to do by hand? If you do fancy woodworking, though, this would give you some real add-ons for things like headboards, fireplace mantles, etc., especially if you were just a hammer pilot and not a carver.

after some searching i found that sears just put their craftsman sticker on a carvewright tool.
http://www.carvewright.com/

I too believe it would wind up in my pile of lazy mans curriositys within a month like rotor zip and battery operated drills...
but like you said headboards, mantels pieces, decorative pearced boxes and applicae wood glue ons

one thing this would be fantastic for is carving them last minuet flat christmas orniments like ginger bread men, turn it on and let it run... some detailing would be needed but no more than a roughout...
then the cost is to be considered $2 grand is a lot for a christmas orniment maker unless you have a high volume sales outlet..
the duplicator measuring head is another $200.00

but i do like the software i played with the demo version, its like auto cad for dummies with paint shop pro intrograted into it,
