Default Cnc Router Update

Got some time to start machining the parts for the cnc router today. Got the bottom frame made and squared up to within a couple thousandths. Made the uprights for the bearing shaft that will carry the gantry. Got the software that will drive the system and have been learning that. I am able to take any drawing that is in vector format and get to run in the simulation mode on the computer. Can't wait to get this thing done but precision takes time and I am not going to rush it. Next update in about a month.

Its a product called 80-20 and your right its a dream to work with. I really couldn't afford to build it out of 80-20 but I lucked out on Ebay. The linear bearings are about $80 bucks a piece and I picked 6 of them up on Ebay for $60 for the lot of 6.

Slow going but I found some time to work on the CNC Router some more this weekend. Got the gantry built, installed, and alingned. slight push and it travels from one end to the other with no drag. Started fitting in the work plate. Almost ready to start building the X axis. All ready have work for the machine when its done. First job will be a custom dash out of curly maple for a 38 plymouth coupe that a friend of mine is restoring.
