Default carving glove

I have one of those carving gloves that have the steel thread and it works really well except for one thing, the chips like to stick to it. In Gene Messers video's he is wearing a glove that looks like it wouldn't hold onto those chips so well and I was wondering if any one knows where they are available and how well they work.
For those who helped me with the 30 degree v tool, I just recieved the one from pfeil in the mail today and it looks like I will probably make good use of it.Thanks again.

What about putting on some of those thin latex gloves over the carving glove?

This is the glove I use, I don't have any problems with the wood chips. It is on sale.

Hi Dave I checked out that glove and it looks the same as the one I am using. I had another one that finally wore out and it wasn't as bad as the one I have now so maybe I just got a dud.

Keep a spray bottle of teflon next to the bench, when you cut off a chip, spritz it with teflon spray while its in the air before it hits the glove...it will slide right off

Hi Ho, You are just too funny, thanks for my laugh of the day.Maybe I can hire someone to do the spraying, that way I might get some carving done.

I use one of the steel reinforced gloves and my biggest gripe is it's slickness, I had a heck of a time hanging on to my carving. I now use one of the yeller gloves with the dots on it for grip. The extra thickness breaks in after a few uses and it's goes on just fine now. A little extra between my fingers and the knife don't hurt either

I know what you mean about the slickness, Corey. About a year ago I thought since everyone was saying "be safe, use a glove" I ought to give it a try. Wound up giving myself a case of tennis elbow squeezing so hard to keep the piece from squirting out of my hand! Now about the only time I use it is when I'm carving a lovespoon. I don't use it to protect me from cuts (never come anywhere close to touching that hand with a knife while wearing a glove), I use it to protect my hand from the sharp edges and points on the spoon!
