| | carving bench tip I have problems with my neck from carving, I stand there with my head down and my chiropractor keeps telling me thats a big part of my problem, trouble is, I can't seem to sit and stay there! He also says to get a carving bench about mid chest high so you can stretch out your arms to carve and hold your head up......well, I tried standing next to our dresser in the bedroom and decided to find one at a second hand store, as it is just about the right height, and the more I thought about it, decided it would actually make a great carving bench, as I can put some wheels under it, doesn't take up much floor space and I have all the drawers to put tools in......Bob D. this is my tip for the month! .... |

| | Re: carving bench tip and if you find the need for a cup of coffee you can take it with you to get coffee just by pushing it in the direction of the coffee pot... no need to loose your place with your carving or no more forgetting where you was working last...
i like that idea.
but i guess you would need a robot vaccume "roomba" to follow you to pick up the wood shavings and chips.... to keep the little lady from using her club on you....<grin>

| | Re: carving bench tip Well, my grandpa - an old farmer - once told me that it gets pretty lonely way out there on the back forty, and he found himself talking to the gophers. "Nothing wrong with that" He said. "The problem was, sometimes I can hear them talking back."
Just ignore the roomba if it starts replying to you. |

| | Re: carving bench tip i didnt buy one yet, my cat dont like nothing around here moving but us people. she fights the other cats in the neiborhood catches blue jays and french mocking birds when they come to peck her, the greatest snake fighter iv seen besides a road runner. and i seen her jump off a stump onto a big golden retriever once and run him off. i didnt think a roomba would make much of a match...
Oh but that air compressor... she makes a new exit whenever it turns on i seen her 3 foot up a bare wall before she made a turned the other day... he he....
dont worry bout talking to the roomba, just dont start talking ditches, even mary jane pittman said only a fool talks to ditches but an oak tree, them trees are smart... they is old enough to have seen it all..

| | Re: carving bench tip hay you guys,
there is nothing wrong with talking to your self .(i do it all the time) and there is nothing wrong with answering your self. the problem comes when you talk to yourself and answer yourself and then ask Huh
