Here's a couple made from pocket knives, mini-trappers to be exact. Rehandled them and reshaped the clip blades. The one is walnut is a stainless Rough Rider, available on ebay for somewhere around ten bucks which includes shipping. The one is osage orange is a Case with chrome vanadium blades. Reshaped the clip blades into wharncliffe like blades. Didn't do anything to the spey blades. Just kept them stock for general use.

Old files work very well. The tang of the file is rarely harded, and the file is normally in the 60- 75 rockwell area. Takes a bit of time to work them down , but they will hold great edges and cut through almost anything without damaging the blade. A bit non flexing but excellent blades.

Yeah, I would bid if it would stay at that price.

My wife calls me bear and she says I look like bear from Bear in the Big Blue House in the morning when I get up, bent over, eyebrows down, waddling, etc.
