I just got some new HT chisels and one of the brass ferrules is loose. How do I go about repaing it? Thanks |

Without seeing the tool, can't be sure. If the shank of the tool butts up against the ferrule, chances are the tool hasn't been fully seated into the handle. Grab ahold of the handle and give the butt end a couple of good hard taps on the workbench. See if it helps. Don't epoxy/glue it on, they are designed to come off for easy replacement when they become damaged from use. If the shank doesn't butt up against the ferrule, beats me.

If the ferrules are seated properly, you can probably tighten them by applying a small prick-punch 180 degrees apart on the ferrule end near the handle. If they already have been punched, you may be able to re-punch at the same locations. |

That's what I did! I noticed that the others were dimpled, but for some reason this one wasn't. Thanks for your help |
