Default Bought a 2 wheel grinder 15 years ago

I forget what the guy told me. It has a regular fine wheel and the other appears to be made of rubber. Is this possible??? It's on a walnut board and has a 1/4 HP motor that runs backwards. I bought it at a wood show a lonf\g time ago and am just now getting into carving. Any help would sure be appreciated. Thanks

tucker i don't understand the question..

the grinder wheels sounds like its set up for sharpening/honing and the rubber wheel is a $40.00 cratex diamond impregnated abrasive wheel. for super fine polishing, if so its color is probably red.

the question about the wood its mounted on ? is something that has to go unanswered by me,

Hey THOMP. thanks for the reply. Actually the rubber wheel is green and seems to have some abrasive effect without adding any compound to it. The hole thing is mounted on a 2 inch thick piece of walnut. I have no idea what I paid for it but I do remember it wasn't cheap. At any rate, I've tired it already on my first ever wood spirit and I think my gouges are fairly sharp.
