I am defiitely a fan of Bob's knives. He makes the blades himself. I find that he has a large selection of shapes, and they hold an edge very well.

I think they are well made, retain an edge, and hold up well. OK, so I'm no techy, nor a "real carver" like Lynn, but I like these knives. In my opinion, you can't go wrong.

Nope, not a relative or employee of Bob's, just a customer!

Dave, I have one of Bob's tupelo knives and I'd feel lost without it. A quality knife that holds it's edge.

Thanks guys, I think I will order one and try it out. I have heard only good things about them, I also like the handle style.

Bob Barts does make good knives as I have two among my accumulation of knives. Recently, I put on by web log, WoodBeeCarver a posting entitled the "Battle of the Knives" in which I carved four sea captains, each with a different knife maker, one being Bob Barts and the others being David Notto, David Lyons and Bud Murray with a little help from a Gil Drake and a Charles Berold knife. It was a fun project that proved that all knife makers make excellent carving knives and it boils down to personal choice. I highly recommend Bob Barts' knives. Donald K. Mertz

I am a former in-law to Bobby Barts (I say this so you can judge any bias for yourself, but I'm being as honest as possible) and I own a couple of his knives that my daughter got me as a gift and I can truly say that they are fine knives. They hold up well and hold a sharp edge. I can also say that Bobby is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet and a great carver. If you ever get a chance to go to the Core Sound Decoy Festival in North Carolina, look him up.
