Mrs. Claus brought me a Ryobi 9 1/2" bandsaw this year. Being of the belief that this saw needs all the help it can get, I am planning on buying a Timberwolf blade for it. I have pretty much settled on a 1/4" - 4 TPI blade. Question is should I go for a regular blade or a skip tooth? Thanks!

I am going to try the skip tooth next time, understand it carries the sawdust out better......don't know for sure but will try it!Cowboy As for Ryobi, I tried one before I moved from colorado.....couldn't take it back fast enough.....just my opinion however! Hard to say anything when it was a gift! We are lucky men to have wives that will do that sort of thing for usTalking

Know what you mean about the Ryobi. Replacing it might be an option (now where was that Dale Carnegie book?). Problem with that is, I don't know what to replace it with. I would love to have the Grizzly 14", but I don't have anyplace to put it. I am pretty much stuck with a bench top model. Is there a quality saw in that form factor?

Some of them can be unbolted from their stand and bolted to a bench. Was to town yesterday and stopped by a Delta dealer and saw that the 10" Delta was such a saw. Glad I don't need to worry about stuff like that. I just draw the outline of the cutout on the block, lay it down by the creek, and in the morning, the beavers have it all blocked out for me.

My ridgid is on a stand, most are I think, so you could like said, take it off the stand. Or maybe make a hole for it somewhere in the shop?

Michael: I can tell you from live and learn, when you purchase blades again try a 1/4"-4tpi skip tooth blade. They are so much easier to control on the sharp turns when cutting out a blank.
