Default Any opinions on diamond paste compound?

I recently saw some diamond paste compound and was wondering how it was..

I have used it. It works, but much prefer Herb Dunkles Yellowsone. The paste has a tendency to get all over everything and doesn't seem to be quite as aggressive.

My dad tried some diamond paste awhile back and he too thought it was to messy.


Hey Ed, I picked up a tube of the MAAS polish that you mentioned on another forum.

I was impressed with the way it worked for a honing compound once the ammonia evaporated. Thanks for the tip.

I have used diamond paste to polish metallurgical samples to be analyzed under a microscope. It works quickly but is very expensive. I prefer Yellowstone or Flexcut Gold. Works fine and much less expensive.

Ive found the best compuond for low rpm power sharpening to be a green compound I get from Koch,its german made.

I maybe wrong but most well stocked truck stops carry the all three colors of polishing compound for polishing chrome...surely it would be the same ...visit your local neighborhood truckstop they should have it..green- white and jewelers rouge also

Most Ace,Home Depot .Sears ,Lowes and Woodcrafters among others carry all the colors of polishing compound,,and the green can be had at Lee Valley.
