Default Any information on Vac-U-Shield

I was looking at the vac-u-shield website (www.vac-u-shield.com). There is a classified ad in Wildfowl Carving magazine. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with using this product?
I am power carving basswoood and tupelo and the dust is everywhere. I have a large Delta dust collector for my woodworking machinery but no easy way to get it to the bench.

Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks,

Hey Bob you're right, power carving without a dust collector is not only messy but bad for your health. Don't know much about the vac-u-shield, but there are a number of smaller dust collectors available. Maybe someone out there can help, but I seem to recall an article in the Woodcarving Ill. magazine about a homemade dust collector, that sits on the workbench. . I think they used computer fans and a furnace filter. I have a smaller Jet dust collector and still wear a dust mask when carving (allergies). Hope this helps.

Have fun, carve
Harold
