Default Any Blacksmiths or knifemakers?

Hey there

New here and was wondering if there are any blacksmiths or knifemakers here?
I blacksmith and make knives but hav'nt made my own carving tools yet and am very intrigued with the idea of doing it.

Jeff, there are several damn fine knife makers here. Fine, as in people and the knives the produce. I'll let them speak up.

jeff,
ive ground a knife or two out of vintage straight razors, barber scissors inserts and reground disposable sheet rock blades...

few years back i did hot work and turned many high carbon steel railroad spikes into hunting or camp knives...

I also made a number of my carving knives. I use stock removal (grinding) I've only recently began to try forging.

Cool,

I can forge to any shape I want to right down to the edge.
What I'm really intrigued in learning about more is edge geometries as they apply to carving tools.Also the tangs and how they are anchored to the handles.
I will figure out the pic thing and show you what I have in mind.

I want to make some tools with this type of tang on them.I'm not sure how far the tang goes into the handle and the shape of it but going to experiment.
