lI've had an AMT knife for several years and it's just fine. How the rest of the tools are, I can't say. Just because it says China, doesn't make it low quality. It can, but not necessarilly so. I've got a number of Chinese pocket knives that compare favorably with the best American Brands. Steel Warrior, Rough Rider and U.S. Classic are three of the brands. For anyone interested here's a review on one model of a Steel Warrior pocket knife.

AMT (American Machine Tool) Ya, right.......got out of the carving tool business about 15 years back. I picked up a closeout set of three 3" fishtail gouges and was totalyy bummed out. But after a brief "mad" I got busy, reground the bevels, honed them up, and now they are three of my favorites. They are not stainles but a good grade high carbon tool steel polished to a fine finish. You got yourself a bargain!

I've yet to see a tool that has made in China on it not require a complete regrind and sharpening. Even the "Buck" brand that Home Depot sells won't cut butter without reworking. I was going to pick up a set until I opened the package in the store and looked at them. I'd have to send them off to Rick before they'd be safe enough to use.
