| | 24 degree V tool I have signed up for a workshop with Charley Phillips. One of the tools listed on the supply list is a Berold 24 degree V tool. Does anyone know where I can find such a tool? I have goggled Berold, and V tools. But I can't find anything this narrow.
Thanks,

| | Re: 24 degree V tool Looks like the Berold's are all custom made tools. WCI did an article on them in the #18 issue, spring 2002. I'm not in my shop at this time, that's where my magazines are, but will check it out in a little bit. |

| | Re: 24 degree V tool They are hand made and they are relatively expensive.
I have an address for Mr. Charlie Berold at home (I think). His health has not been good lately, so I am not sure of the availability of these tools. (Joy - check your Private Message box)
You may want to check with the instructor (if possible) to see if there is another option. If all else fails, you can borrow one during the class.

| | Re: 24 degree V tool Thank you, all. When you say this is an expensive tool...do you mean more than Swiss Made tools? Wish I had the #18 issue of the magazine, but it wasn't included when I ordered all the back issues.
The "Ultimate Carving Pattern Collection" I received today mentions a 22 1/2 degree V tool, but states that few companies make it. Unfortunately, it didn't name the companies.
THanks again for such quick responses.

| | Re: 24 degree V tool Actually, Flexcut may make a "narrow" v-tool. Not really sure, but I seem to remember that from somewhere. |

| | Re: 24 degree V tool I would contact the instructor and see if you could sub a different one for the 24 degree. I know in the Bishop class the referred to the tools they use but one could sub for their tool choice. Works out ok. At least for theirs it did. May want to contact Rick of little shavers and see what he can come up with. I know he helped me out on the degrees on a V tool. |

| | Re: 24 degree V tool In the article she did with us, Charley suggested using the tightest (lowest-angle) V-tool you have.
