Default Yundt's Wisteria Desk

I want to share with other carvers this photo of the completed Wisteria Desk by Mark Yundt. The basswood carving was given final painting by an artist.

This is an incredible piece of work. It is not only professional it is artistic and shows and immense amount of talent and attention to detail. Congratulations on a great success. The owner has to be pleased.

In incredible piece of work indeed...I have often wondered if I would get tired of carving if I had to do it full time....NNaaahhhh...I truly believe that carvers/artists like Mr. Yundt cause a stirring in the wannabees like me that causes us to "dig a little deeper" "look a little farther" and "try a little harder" mainly because they allow us glimpses into their world with pictures and text in forums like this...

Not quite like smelling the aroma of the fresh carved wood, hearing the chisel slice thru the fibers or being able to touch a work of art in progress, but Mark has gotten us close on this one!!! "Scratch and sniff" is next..
AND, for those that are unaware, Mark has entered the desk in the Woodcraft carving challenge. Mark, we are expecting pictures from the land of lederhosen and snowy peaks!!! Get you passport ready...
