David you'd get a better response if you indicated what type of carving you were going to try. Try putting a different heading, Chip Carving knife, caricature carving knife, etc. Good luck. John |

I have a few Pfiel chip carving knives, but I don't like the handles. I must prefer knives with bigger and rounder handles because they are more comfortable to use. But in the not so round but comfortable knives, these are good ![]() Chip Carving Knives Gilles

The three Chipping Away knives posted by Gilles have ergonomically designed handles and are great especially if you are a beginner. I don't have them but have used them to teach a newbie. The shape of the handle almost forces you to hold the knife correctly. IMHO Bill K. |

cool! sounds like a good plan. i've read on the orum that the way you hold the knife for a great deal determines the outcome. do you have their reerence numbers? thanks, david |

Sorry David my mistake. You did post in the chip carving section, however I opened it under new posts. Whateveryou've had a good response from a few good chip carvers. I use a Wayne Baron knife and a small Lamp knife. Sharpening is the trick. |
