Default Very good site

Hello everyone, I have been observing this site for a while before i decided to join in. I must recommend you guys on your passion about woodworking because I used to think it was a concept fading out of civilization but you guys have proven me wrong.
I have an issue at hand and i need opinionated help from anyone. My girlfriend has been telling me she appreciates things done with effort and care as gifts than anything else. She doesn't know i know this site and I was planning on making her something simple like a wooden wrist band and necklace. You know with beads and shape and I am planning on doing it myself excerpt for the elastic cord am going to get.
My question is, what kind of wood can I use? like this one i saw it was a strong small and dark brownish in color. And how can I make little round wooden beads? What tools do i need for this project? And if someone can kindly give me any other tip I forgot/didn't remember to include. Her birthday is this coming sunday and am in a panick mode right now because i haven't even started. I work as an hvac tech.
Thanks and I respect any assistance on these issues that I can get.

Hello and welcome, futuristic. It's nice to have you here with us. I'm sorry I can't help you with your issue. There are all sorts of woods you can use and if you have a lathe, turning the beads would be easier than trying to carve them.
