Default Update on Eagle Relief

Well here is what I have done since showing it last. I still want to do a little more on the right shore line. I was also thinking about textureing the trees branches. What do you think.

Hey Buddy great job you are coming along really good. Yes I agree that some texture to the tree's would certainly enhance them. It is had to tell from the picture what else it needs if anything maybe a closer picture would help us better. Ask Katy to take a picture of it close up if you would. Never the less it is coming along just fine. BTW I am still sick cant seem to shake this thing.

While I'm certainly not the relief carving expert for dishing out advice, I'd probably say that those trees could use some texturing as they seem a bit too smooth. Really nice job and I love seeing it "come to life".

I'd say that you have quite the "eagles-eye" when it comes to relief carving and it's hard to accept that you're carving in the dark! Keep it up.

Dave I am going to try and do something like jack pine branches on the closer trees. I still have allot of detail to do.

Ron, that shadows inside the trees is wonderful. They have coal black shadows in the tight areas in the upper canopy. The color slowly fades to an umber tone down near the water ... Very nice!

You might want to add checking the cloud bank to your list of to do items. I feel like the upper portions or sections might need to be lowered some. Cloud pile up in rows, one behind another, so that the upper clouds are really the tops of clouds behind the lower clouds. So you can layer them just as you would several layers of mountains.

Just great and thank you for adding the up date.

Susan
