Scott McNeil is great! I'm not so much a fan of the finished product, it is a neat idea but I love his pieces before he paints them, I prefer a natural wood finish. Anywho I'm pretty sure they are 2 inches thick, I remember somewhere on his website there was a mention of the size of his works. Most relief work I've seen is 1.5 to 2 in thick.

Hey guys, Thank you for the replies. Then when doing something this thick, would you reckon he's leaving a 1/2" thickness of lumber across the back... or more or less? I guess a lot would depend on the size of the piece, but let's say you're working with a 11 1/4" X 16"-20" X 2" blank? Thanks again.....wheezer |

Wheezer, I am no expert but I would say no more than a 1/4 in. you have to give you room to work if the initial thickness is 2in. but like I said I am no expert.
