| | Susan You need to make a little more room
Susan I had a bit of time to really play today and I decided to try something a bit different with your pattern of the mill. Anyway , this is out of Spanish cedar and I really wanted to give you a different look. So a few adjustments , a little of this a bit of that, do something I should not have done but did it anyway ...then a tweak here. Anyway thought you might like to see them.

Beautiful detailing! The cedar really is outstanding wood for what you are doing! Fantastic. The shadows are great and I love the tree textures. If you burn this again please check MY alignment on the two upper windows. It looks like I am off.

It might well be where I picked up the line, but the burn can also do a bit of distorting. But from what I can see, it might well be just the photo.
You will know by Tuesday as they all be in your hands.
Here is my play time today =)

| | Re: Susan You need to make a little more room Hi Ash, sorry I haven't commented sooner the woods you have choosen are really nice. I like the mill and I love the way you are capturing the sepia tones and values. The beautiful redwood complements the reddish-golden fur on the mountain lion. Looks like your taking to wood burning/pyrography well. are these laser?

Yes , they are all laser carvings. The mill is spanish cedar, just an outstanding wood for everything from walking sticks to tables.
The cougar , is Susan pattern , and the wood is spalted maple. It was a test piece that just looked right. Now it is sitting on my desk , because I really like the way it turned out. The wood has no finish on it. The mill I cut for Ron , as a pattern guide was in aromatic cedar and the colors just jumped put.
The laser does some odd things to the wood as it cuts, one of the side benifits are the wonderful colors the wood gives up.
