Default still chip carving, a couple pieces

Hi all. I made a couple more pieces. the fist one is a ice cycle. got the idea from one of are members. the pictures are not so good. for I had a hard time getting the light right. the second is my very first egg. HE ha. not so great. the way I cut it was cross grain, of course it split like crazy. so i used some ca glue to hold it together. and then when I stained it. the glue showed up. almost dumped it in the trash, but I don't like doing that. so tried to fix it. I died it with some leather dye. and then sprayed it with the new water based deft. (so hate that stuff) of course it fell apart from the base that I used ca on instead of wood glue. and fell in the dirt. Ouch. it was close to the dumpster. but the next day. picked it up. sanded it again, dyed it again, and sprayed it again.9with the old deft ) now it looks marbled. and used some titebond to glue the base back on. the pictures don't show how pretty it is now, but I think I saved it enough to put in my cabinet to learn from. hear is the pictures. Evie
