The star is lovely. How do you get your lines so straight and your cuts so even?

The fish scale looking pattern is interesting. It looks like you did two vertical cuts and the third cut at about 30 degrees, yes?

You are exactly right about the cuts. The chip inside the chip is done the same way. Straight lines and eveness just comes with practice I guess. I've been chip carving for about 10 years.
