Default St John's Luthern Church

I found this church a few miles from home and decided it would be a great relief carving. The first picture is after 1.5 hours of carving, the second is about 4 hours after start and the last is completed with about a total of 7 -8 hours invested. While doing research for the church, i found it was founded in 1871. I didnt find out when this particular building was constructed. I think this will appeal to both the followers of country churches and those that know the church. i found out that there are 7 luthern churches within 8 miles of cole camp mo. and that is the predominate religion in this old german town. this church is located 1.5 miles east of the junction of highway 65 and P in Benton county.

its carved from 3/4 inch basswood and is 12 X 16 inches overall size and is painted with water colors

You did an amazing job on this piece.

I love it.

Of course I'm mostly German and belong to a Lutheran church...

That piece would take me months instead of hours.
